About New Beginnings Christian Counseling

Our Mission

New Beginnings Christian Counseling (NBCC) is committed to providing a safe environment where participants can heal, maximize their strengths, and discover their potential through individual, couples, and family counseling.

Our mission is accomplished by offering services that focus on the development of coping skills, emotional maturity, and self-actualization.

NBCC endeavors to provide Christian marriage and individual counseling and to help our clients become contributing and successful members of the community.

Our Approach

We believe in taking a client-centered approach to Christian counseling, where we work collaboratively with our clients to identify their goals and develop a personalized plan for treatment.

"Without good direction, people lose their way;

the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances."

Proverbs 11:14

Tammy is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and has practiced for over 16 years. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from the State University of New York at Fredonia, her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Mount Aloysius College, and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

Her passion lies in empowering individuals and guiding them to discover their identity in Christ. She incorporates bibliotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to promote healing and help clients reach their full potential. Her areas of focus include trauma, couples therapy, and family dynamics.

Bonnie Laughlin

Bonnie completed her Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Pennsylvania Western University- Edinboro. Currently, she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. She has experience working in a foster care, adoption agencies, serving as a school social worker, working with senior citizens, and serving as an out-patient therapist.

She has received certifications in Anxiety, trauma (Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy-TF-CBT) and attention deficit disorder. She has also been trained to utilize Dialectical behavior therapy.

Bonnie offers a warm nonjudgmental space where individuals will feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Her goal is to help individuals, not to just manage symptoms, but to develop lasting skills that help them to bounce back from life’s challenges.

In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, walking her dog, and reading. She also likes learning new things.

As a therapist and a Christian, Bonnie believes there is great value in a whole person approach to counseling; a person’s spiritual life is interconnected with their mental and emotional life. She uses a counseling approach that includes both evidence-based mental health practices and faith-based methods.
